It's been super busy around here, as I'm doing the Finders Keepers market again in a couple of weeks. If you're in Melbourne, come on down and say hello. But I've managed to catch a few little snaps here and there...

 

1. amazing green tomatoes from my sister's garden (lunch amid fabric scraps)

2 & 4. quilts and cushions in bright colours were the results of last week's productivity

3. part of our morning routine is counting the number of hot air balloons we see. I never tire of those glorious things floating by

5. enjoying our garage sale find (complete with '70s yellow coke bottle glass... ace)

6. some hot air balloons last week copped this on their morning ride over the city. Double rainbow all the way across. if you know what I'm saying. 

*Hi Em...*

It's our wedding anniversary next week and I've been thinking about what it means to commit yourself to someone. For like, forever. That's big stuff. Katherine Bowman made my wedding ring and I love that it's such a special piece, like these of hers above - a little battered, with indents and fingerprints, not perfect but real and beautiful and a little bit wonky.  Like us.

A new favourite...

Hello there...
Here's another little quilt that went on its merry way to happy recipients last week. Modelled most graciously by my little fella, Leo.

The backing fabric was one of my Paris purchases... making it just that little bit extra special. I had some trouble parting with it!

'The Seam' (and an amateur photographer)

I was pretty excited to be asked by my sister and her collaborative art group, The Seam, to take some photos of them and their gorgeous studio recently. It was the first time I've really taken photos like this so I was slightly nervous, but actually it was a really fun experience. I still have much to learn with this photography caper, but I'm enjoying the process of improving.

The Seam create wonderful collaborative pieces, including an upcoming (this and next week!) installation for babies called Rain at Art Play in Melbourne. keeping cool...

I'm lacking inspiration for this space at the moment, as evidenced by the fact that I'm resorting to talking about the weather. It's hot hot hot here in Melbourne, with not much respite in sight.
So it's public pools, southside beaches, balcony baths and icypoles...

(check out the snot... a cold in the middle of a heat wave! That's just not on).
